Volleyball clinches the District Championship again!

October 18, 2016 – Reagan Volleyball defeated Johnson 25-17, 25-14, 25-21 to clinch the District 26-6A championship. This is the 13th year that Reagan has earned the District Champion or Co-Champion title.  This win against the Jaguars places the Rattlers at 34-4 overall and 10-0 in the District.  The Rattlers are ranked 9th in the state and 33 nationally.

Highlights from the match include 15 kills by Senior Izzy DeLaRosa, 12 by Junior Elissa Barbosa and 10 by Junior Camryn Ennis.  Barbosa also had 4 blocks and Junior Kaja Burja blocked 3 hits. Junior Lydia Niebla (pictured) had 25 digs, followed by 14 from Senior Faith Horan, and 11 by Barbosa.  Ennis also had 26 assists and Senior Laryssa Correa had 16.  Finally, Niebla aced 2 serves. Overall, it was a competitive match, but the Rattlers’ persistence and execution helped them defeat the Jaguars in 3 straight sets.

Cheer on Varsity when they play Madison on Friday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Reagan.  Also playing at Reagan on Friday night beginning at 5:00 p.m. are Junior Varsity (Overall 15 – 0, District 9 – 0), Freshman A (Overall 17 – 1, District 9 – 1) and Freshman B (Overall 14 – 0, District 10 – 0).
