Big congratulations to the RRHS State Swim Team, led by Head Aquatics Coach Michael Rourke, for an outstanding performance at the UIL 6A State Championship Meet held at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.
Competing against an exceptionally talented field, the Reagan women earned an impressive third-place overall finish at the 6A State Championship, receiving both a team trophy and bronze medals for their achievement. The Reagan men followed with a strong fifth-place overall finish. Together, their combined performances propelled the Rattlers to an outstanding second-place finish in the state!
Individual and Relay Highlights:
Grant Lilly is the State Champion in the 500 Freestyle, successfully defending his title and winning his second consecutive gold medal. He also earned a bronze medal in the 200 Freestyle.
Women’s 200 Freestyle Relay – Amelia Miller, Daniela Delarue, Sophia Williamson, and Tessa Christiansen earned bronze, breaking a 15-year-old school record with a time of 1:34.92.
Johnny Ganser shattered an 18-year-old school record in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 45.64.
Women’s 400 Freestyle Relay – Tessa Christiansen, Daniela Delarue, Amelia Miller, and Sophia Williamson won gold by just .01 seconds in a thrilling finish with a time of 3:26.96.
Men’s 400 Freestyle Relay – Samuel Killpack, Johnny Ganser, Charles Escobar, and Grant Lilly won gold with a time of 3:02.73, breaking the school record set earlier this season.
