Road Trippin’ with Finesse… Softball Lady Rattlers keep on Rollin…

February 24, 2026

Somewhere over Laredo, the Reagan Rattlers run ruled the United Lady Longhorns in 4 innings. Third baseman standout, Peyton Mendoza (Fr.) drove in six runs on four hits to lead the Rattlers past the Laredo United ladies 17-1 this past Tuesday. In addition, Rattler’s contributions were led by short stop Mina Galvan (Jr.) with 3 Rbis, while catcher Mila Mancias (Sr.) brought in 4 runs, and Courtney Latronico (Fr.) added 2 Rbis of her own.

Meanwhile on the mound, Ally Reyes (Jr.) earned the win for Reagan, while Carolina Santoyo (Fr.) shut down the final inning to allow a total of one combined run for the team.

The second leg of the Reagan Rattlers tour stopped in Portland, TX for a 3-day swing of 6 games at the Incarnate Word Academy Coastal tournament. Reagan’s early season momentum thankfully traveled well with our Rattler Ladies.

The first day’s games ended with hard fought victory of 3-0 verses Calhoun High, and 6-0 shutout against host Incarnate Word Academy Angels. Highlights were 10 shutout innings by Ally Reyes, with 18 strikeouts, with an inside the park home run by Courtney Latronico.

Day 2 at the Coastal tournament was more dominance by the Rattlers. Carolina Santoyo fanned 5 batters in 3 shutout innings while the Rattlers offense unloaded 14 runs over Raymondville High in a 14-0 trouncing led by Santoyo who helped her cause out with 4 Rbis at bat. The Rattlers returned Ally Reyes to the mound to shutdown heralded Weslaco High with a 6-0 victory over 4 scoreless innings and 6 strikeouts.

Last day at the Portland tournament showcased more explosives, with a 13-2 mashing of Taylor High, starting off with a dead center bomb by Mina Glavan, ending with a fantastic finale “walk off” homer by Sadie Eckles verses hometown favorites, Gregory-Portland Wildcats in a 9-3 victory.

Reagan’s 6-0 record placed the First in Tournament scoring 51 runs while allowing a stingy 7 runs and only 4 total errors. First basemen Presley Noriega (Sr.) recorded a team high 25 total put-outs. Ally Reyes added 4 more wins and Carolina Santoyo 2 more victories.

Next up this week is the final Tune up for Reagan before District play. The Lady Rattlers take trips out to Lockhart High and TMI Episcopal Academy.
