Records set as Reagan Girls capture another Regional Championship

Reagan Girls Track & Field won the 6A Region IV Championship for the third straight year*. This year, the Reagan team left no doubt as they dominated the field in the following events:

RUNNING EVENTS

  • 100M: Jasmine Montgomery, Regional Champion with an 11.21.
  • 200M: Jasmine Montgomery, Regional Champion with a 23.27, which is a Region and Reagan record; Madeline McElroy took 5th place.
  • 300H: Taylen Wise, Regional Champion with a 43.59, which is a Reagan record and PR.
  • 4x100M Relay: Madeline McElroy, Taylen Wise, Alyssa Quinones, Jasmine Montgomery, Regional Champions with a meet record of 45.60.
  • 4x200M Relay: Madeline McElroy, Hunter Simmons, Alyssa Quinones, Aniya Ross, 1st place with 1:39:12.
  • 4x400M Relay: Josephine Zink, Allie Snelgrove, Aniya Ross, Lauren Brown, 6th place with a 4:01.79.

FIELD EVENTS

  • Triple Jump: Taylen Wise, Regional Champion with a 38-4 1/2.
  • Long Jump: Taylen Wise, 4th with a 17-11.5.
  • Pole Vault: Alyssa Quinones, 2nd place with a 12-6.
  • High Jump: Mackenzie Dagrosa, 3rd place with a 5’4″.
  • Discuss: Christeen Iwuala, 4th place with 132-7.

The top 1st and 2nd place athletes from each Region go on to compete in the UIL State Track & Field Meet being held May 6-8 at Mike Myers Stadium at the University of Texas Austin.
