Taylen Wise signed her National Letter of Intent today for the University of Arizona Track & Field. The Wildcats compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as a member of the PAC-12 Conference.
Wise is a four year letterman for Reagan Girls Track & Field. She has been a top medalist during her years as a Rattler. Her highlights include:
- 2nd place 2021 UIL State Championship Track & Field team earning 2nd place in the 4×100 with a new school record of 45.00; 4th place in Triple Jump with a 39-4.75; and 9th place in the 300M Hurdles with a 45.36.
- Regional Championship team 2021 earning 1st place in the 4x100M Relay with a meet record of 45.60; 300M Hurdles Regional Champion with a 43.59 (Reagan record and PR); Regional Champion in Triple Jump with a 38-4 1/2; and 4th place in Long Jump 17-11.5.
- Area Championship 2021 earning all 1st place in all her events: 4x100M Relay (breaking the city record) with a 45.48; 300M Hurdles 44.62; Long Jump 18-4.00; and Triple Jump 39-1.75 .
- District Championship 2021 earning 1st place in all her events: 4×100M Relay 45.48 (District Meet Record), 300M Hurdles 44.18 (District Meet Record), Long Jump 18-10.5 (District Meet Record); and Triple Jump 39-7.5 (School Record).
Head Coach Jennifer McHugh commented, “Taylen’s ambition matches her positive attitude and work ethic. She is a treasured leader on our team—always working toward meeting her potential for her teammates. We are so proud of Taylen and look forward to watching her excel.”
In addition, Taylen is involved at Reagan as one of the Student Athletic Trainers for Rattler Football; is a member of the PALS organization; and is a Senior Class Officer.
