October 18, 2018 – Reagan lost a tough match to Bowie high school from Austin today. The level of play was extremely high from both sides. Bowie jumped out to a 3-1 lead after sweeping the boys doubles. Reagan’s #1 girls doubles team of Bailey Godwin and Kyndall Quiroz got Reagan on the board with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Francis and Camacho. The mixed doubles team of Kyle Totorica and Bella Ortega lost a 3 set battle 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 to put Bowie up 4-1. At girls #2 doubles Ruchi Sehgal and Orren Shachaf won a tough 3 setter 6-2, 6-7, 10-7 and Alex Zink and Maansi Shah won at girls #3 doubles 6-3, 6-4 to close the gap to 4-3 Bowie lead. Heading into singles Reagan got wins from Bailey Godwin, Kyndall Quiroz and Kyle Totorica but the depth from Bowie was too much as they won boys 2, 3 and 4 singles as well as girls 3, 5 and 6 singles to close out the match. The loss ends Reagan’s team season and now the Rattlers will turn their focus onto the spring individual season.
