It came down to the wire on Tuesday at Northeast Sports Park, as the Rattlers grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 2-1, over Madison. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the seventh when Tony Gilbreath hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Gilbreath led the Rattlers with two runs. The left fielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Isaiah Robledo, Gilbreath, and Bodie Weyman each collected one hit. Center fielder, Ricky Armstrong, turned one double play in the game.
The Rattler pitching was strong with Darden Wetherell taking the mound. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and one run over seven innings, striking out three with no walks.
The Rattlers will match up with Madison again on Friday, March 21st at Blossom Athletic Complex.
