Thursday, February 26, 2026 – Strong pitching on both sides highlighted Thursday’s matchup, but the Rattlers came away with a 3-1 victory over Hays.
Connor Pictrowski got the start and delivered a standout performance, recording 20 outs to set the tone on the mound. Hays pushed across a run in the first inning, but the Rattlers quickly settled in and kept them off the board the rest of the way.
Reagan grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning with a clutch offensive surge. Brody Beck and Caine Chapman each delivered singles to spark the rally, and Karsten Holman added productive contact to help bring home three runs and give Reagan the advantage for good.
Pictrowski earned the win, allowing just one run on seven hits over six and two-thirds innings while striking out nine and walking two. Zach Hopkins came in to shut the door and secure the save.
Offensively, the depth of the lineup was on display. Ollie Wetherell, batting seventh, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Chapman and Beck each drove in a run. Defensively, the Rattlers were flawless, committing no errors. Chapman paced the defense with nine chances in the field.
The opponent collected seven hits and turned two double plays but was limited to a single run.
The Rattlers return to action against Steel Friday at 10 a.m. at Steel High School.
