Today, Lady Rattlers senior midfielder Emilee Durante officially signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her soccer career at St. Mary’s University!
A four-year letterman and starter, Emilee has made her mark on the field and in the classroom. She was named District 28-6A Midfielder of the Year as a junior, as well as earning First Team All-District and TASCO All-Region Second Team honors. Emilee was also a First Team All-District selection her sophomore year and Second Team All-District honoree as a freshman. She has earned Academic All-District recognition every year of her high school career.
Emilee’’s soccer journey started at four years old, inspired by her parents as both sides of her family have been around the game for a long time. Her favorite part of playing for Reagan has been the team overnight trips with her teammates. Her favorite player, Lionel Messi, inspires her not only for his incredible skill but for his humility on and off the field.
At St. Mary’s, Emilee will play under Head Coach Kevin Driggs, who has led the St. Mary’s Rattlers to five consecutive post-season appearances and two NCAA tournaments. Emilee shared that she admires Coach Driggs’ playing style and dedication to his players. “I look forward to hopefully making a difference in the program and going to a great school overall academically,” she said. Here is what Coach Driggs had to say about Emilee: “Emi is as technical as they come. When you combine that with her vision, soccer IQ, and tenacity, she’s going to do great things at the collegiate level. I couldn’t be happier that Emi is now a part of our team.”
