After a brief 2 game skid to District Rivals Churchill Chargers and Clark Cougars, the Lady Rattlers bravely fought back to begin a new 2 game streak over Brandeis Broncos and Roosevelt Rough Riders this past week.
Leadoff hitter Courtney Latronico (Fr.) drove in four runs on three hits to lead Reagan past Brandeis Varsity Broncos 19-0 on Tuesday. Latronico hit an inside the park home run to left field in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring one.
The Lady Rattlers sealed the victory by busting open a 10 run third inning. Slugging Freshmen, Peyton Mendoza and Kate Pendergrass both tripled, scoring two runs each. Super Seniors Presley Noriega, Sadie Eckles, and Mila Mancias each doubled, scoring a combined 5 Rbis to lead the charge.
Ally Reyes (So.) earned the win for the Lady Rattlers. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking none. Carolina Santoyo (Fr.) threw one inning of zero-run ball for Reagan in relief. The pitcher surrendered one hit, striking out one and walking one.
Reagan Varsity Rattlers accumulated a season high 19 hits in the Brandies victory.
The offense domination continued in another 3-inning route over the Roosevelt Rough Riders 16-0 in back to back run rule games. Carolina Santoyo earned the win with no runs scored and 10 strikeouts.
Next up for Reagan Varsity Rattlers is a game verses undefeated District rival, Madison Mavericks on March 31 at 430pm and perennial district champs, Johnson Jaguars at 7pm on April 2, both at Northeast softball fields.
