Highly ranked Boys Soccer readies for season

December 17, 2018

December 17, 2018 – Reagan Boys Soccer is ready to kick off their season with scrimmages on December 29th against Hendrickson at 12 noon (Comalander) and Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. (BAC West).  The Rattlers are led by Head Coach Gilbert Villarreal, Assistant Coach, Heather Boss-Durante, and Varsity Captains: Michael Morell, Jared Olsen, and Eugene Albo.

Expectations are high as the team has already been ranked #1 in the Region IV 6A Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) ranking and #4 in the USA Today Sports Super 25 pre-season ranking. CLICK HERE for complete rankings from USA Today.

When asked about the upcoming season, Coach Villarreal commented, “We are excited about the upcoming season and trying to repeat the success we had last year.  Obviously, that will be a very difficult task to win the district, the region and return to the state tournament but that is definitely still the goal.  The players are motivated to make that happen again this year but we are all aware of the other great teams not only in our district but in the rest of the region and state.  We lost some talented, important players but there is still a lot of experience returning and some new promising players as well.  Hopefully we can improve from game to game and have a great season no matter how it ends.
