Diego Moreno signs with Texas Lutheran University

February 4, 2026

We are incredibly proud to announce that Diego Moreno has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas. Texas Lutheran competes in the NCAA Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) boasting a premier baseball program with a rich history of championship contention. Diego is thrilled to join the Bulldogs’ pitching staff starting in the Fall of 2026, fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing at the collegiate level. A two-year Varsity Letterman for the Rattlers, Diego’s journey to the mound is a testament to his “never quit” attitude. After facing a significant shoulder injury on his pitching arm (dislocated shoulder and torn labrum) entering his Freshman year, he displayed immense grit through the grueling 15-month recovery process. Instead of giving up, Diego remained focused on his goals, proving that with faith and hard work, any obstacle can be overcome. His dedication extends into the classroom as well, where he earned the title of Academic All-District. Diego’s passion for baseball began at the age of three. While he grew up playing multiple sports, at the age of 10 he dedicated himself entirely to his true love: baseball. A year-round athlete Diego has honed his skills not only with the Rattlers but also as a key player for the Lobos Baseball club for 6 years and then with the Lone Star Brewers. This lifelong commitment to his craft has prepared him well for the transition to the fast-paced environment of college ball. Beyond the diamond Diego is by a true servant’s heart. Whether he is volunteering with the Young Men’s Service League or serving as an integral part of the Faith Formation team at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, he consistently puts others first. This commitment to service makes him a perfect fit for Texas Lutheran, a faith based university where he plans to major in Pre-Law. We look forward to seeing Diego excel in the classroom, in the community, and on the mound.
