The girls and boys varsity wrestling teams traveled to Johnson High School Thursday evening for matches against Johnson, Steele, and Smithson Valley.
The girls beat Johnson 36-6 powered by wins with pin from America Rodriguez, Shobhana Spielmann, Daniella Garcia, Kayla Baker, and Libertad Rodriguez. They battled against very talented teams in Steele and Smithson Valley but came up short. Spielmann continued her winning ways from last year racking up a total of 3 pins in 3 matches for the night.
The boys beat Steele 39-18 behind wins by pin from Max Pechman, Ben Taylor, Connor O’Brien, and Noah Hyslop as well as a win from Kaiser Jabbour. Against Johnson, O’Brien and Bryce Whitethorn both recorded major wins with Eliel Flores, Finn Conboy, and Connor Vigil recording wins but the team fell short 26-48. Whitethorn and Vigil both had wins by pin against Smithson Valley but Reagan lost to the the 5A State ranked team 18-52..
Next up is the JV Charger Classic on Friday and the Varsity teams will be back on the mat on Saturday for the Varsity Charger Classic both located at Churchill High School.
