Volleyball’s Nyah Anderson commits to University of Miami

On National Signing Day, Reagan Volleyball’s Nyah Anderson signed her commitment to the University of Miami.

Nyah came to Reagan as a freshman and joined the JV team as a Middle under Coach Garcia and played the past three years on the varsity team under Coach Torvick. She has been a team starter every year and played six rotation-Outside Hitter for the past few years at Reagan. While using her skills in the front and back row, Nyah assisted in leading her team to numerous victories. Reagan Volleyball has enabled Nyah to become a leader through team sportsmanship, mentoring, and community service outreach, all while building life-long friendships. Her compassion, kindness, positive and fun energy is obvious on and off the court!

Nyah has earned several accolades and been recognized in the district, city, and state of Texas.

In 2019:

·      Offensive MVP & Kills Leader 436 (’19-’20)
·      2019 NEISD ALL Tournament
·      27-6A District Co-Champion
·      Bi-District Champion Area Finalist
·      27-6A Offensive Player of the Year
·      27-6A 1st Team All-District
·      TGCA 6A All State

In 2020:

·      Prep Dig TX High School Player of the Week
·      Express News Super Team
·      Preseason All VYPE Public School 5A-6A teams
·      AVCA, Phenom Watch List
·      Under Armour All American Watch List
·      In the Top Texas prospect (2021 Class Rankings)
