January 23, 2016 – The Reagan Girls Varsity starts their Spring season off by taking 4th at the Woodlands Invitational. They competed with 22 other schools from across Texas and Louisiana; a tournament that fielded 113 golfers. The team posted a respectable 322-323 / 645 despite the wet conditions, freeze delays and having to play two different courses sight unseen! It was the nearby Montgomery HS team that took 1st place with an outstanding 306-300 / 606.
Senior Faith Summers, reigning District 26-6A Champion, captured 3rd with 73-74 / 147; representing her third Top-5 finish in each of the first three tournaments played this school year. Makenna Thomas T-14th with 81-78 / 159, Romina Gonzalez took 30th with 88-82 / 170, Katie Thorstenson T-31st with 82-89 / 171, and Megan Sills placed 39th with 86-89.
The Girls Varsity team next travels to Flowermound, Texas to attend the Vanessa Close Classic at Bridlewood Country Club on February 5-6th.
