Rattler football players completed volunteer service projects this month, as they do every summer as part of the Reagan Football Program’s quest to assist in creating not only exceptional football players, but men of exceptional character.
50 rising 10th-12th graders participated in a project for the national non-profit Sleep in Heavenly Peace on Wednesday, June 21st, volunteering their time and efforts to help build bunk beds for children in the San Antonio community who live without a bed to sleep in. They sanded wood, drilled holes and assembled headboards, among other tasks, designed to help the staff get the beds assembled and ready for delivery to local families.
The incoming freshmen football players completed their service project at the Children’s Hunger Fund on June 14th. 60 players assembled over 700 snack packs that are sent across the globe to assist in this worldwide issue. The players also worked assembling boxes and cleaning the warehouse after their shift was over.
