Spring Breakin’ Lady Rattlers come out Swingin’ Strong

March 14, 2026

The First trek of the 2026 District 28-6A season was thrilling and competitive to say the least. The Lady Rattlers struck first against the Roosevelt Rough Riders and were led by their stellar Freshmen class. Courtney Latronico led the team with 3 hits, Kate Pendergrass led with 3 Runs scored, along with Peyton Mendoza and Carolina Santoyo combining for 5 Rbis. Santoyo was a double threat who pitched 4 innings of scoreless, hitless softball on the mound only allowing one walk! Reagan marched to a 15-0 run rule over the Rough Riders in 4 innings.

Perennial district champs, Madison Mavericks were the next opponent and dealt the Rattlers their only loss of the season 9-3.

The Lady Rattlers bounced back big against district rival, Johnson Jaguars in an epic 7 inning battle.

Overcoming a rare defensive errored game, All District Pitcher, Ally Reyes (Jr.), threw 7 clutch innings of 0 earned runs softball, fanning 8 Johnson batters. Super Seniors Mila Macias with 3 hits and Presley Noriega chipped in 2 Rbis with infield mate, Mina Glavan (Jr.) who also brought in 2 runs to tally the win for the Rattlers in late inning fashion to seal the victory 8-5.

The week wrapped up with a grind out battle against LEE Volunteers. Both pitchers, Carolina Santoyo and Ally Reyes combined to hold the Volunteers to 3 runs on 5 hits. Santoyo stuck out 12 batters in 5 innings, while pitching mate, Reyes took on the closer duty to seal the 7-2 victory for Reagan. Shortstop Mina Galvan, and First baseman, Presley Noriega, bombed in a triple each, while slugging Seniors Sadie Eckles and Mila Mancias led the Rbi charge with 2 a piece.

Next up for the 17-1 Rattlers this week are Churchill Chargers on St. Patty’s Day followed by Clark Cougars on Friday.
