Soccer’s Jared Olsen commits to Trinity University

February 6, 2019

February 6, 2019 – Jared Olsen is a capping off his long and successful soccer career by choosing to play for San Antonio’s own Trinity University.  “Trinity plays a quality brand of soccer that complements my possession style of play, while at the same time academically preparing me to succeed in life.  It’s the perfect fit for me and I can still play for San Antonio.” Jared stated.

At the age of 12, Jared passed on an opportunity to play in Germany for Borussia Gladbach so that he could continue to train under Manni Klar, former US Soccer U14 National Team coach.  After much hard work and through the support of several quality coaches, Jared’s soccer career has come full circle to play for Coach McGinlay of Trinity University, who coached along with Manni Klar in the US Soccer Federation.

Jared is finishing off his Reagan Rattler career as a two year letterman, 2017-18 All-District 2nd team and 2018 All-Academic team player.  He will continue for his second year to be the Rattler’s starting center-mid and will try to take Ronald Reagan High School to another state final.
