Today we send six Rattler Wrestlers to the State Tournament where they will encounter the toughest competition of the year Friday and Saturday, February 18-19. The Road to State started back in November, and it has been a constant battle on and off the mat – these athletes have had to keep their skill, strength, speed, endurance, mentality and grades all at a high level while also maintaining their weight and staying healthy during a pandemic. These are not ordinary athletes.
At 113# SOPHOMORE CONNOR O’BRIEN enters the tournament with a Season 33-12 record with 12 pins and an overall Reagan record of 42-18.
At 120# SOPHOMORE BRYCE WHITETHORN enters the tournament with a Season 25-9 record with 14 pins and the same overall Reagan record as the Whitethorn family joined our wrestling family this year.
At 138# JUNIOR CAPTAIN JIMMY BENNE enters the tournament with a Season 34-5 record with 24 pins and an overall Reagan record of 82-24.
At 145# SENIOR MAVERICK WHITETHORN enters the tournament with a Season and Reagan record of 30-3 with 20 pins. Whitethorn fittingly passed the huge milestone 100 High School Varsity wins on Senior night and now sits at 108 total Varsity victories.
At 220# JUNIOR SAWYER PEEVY enters the tournament with a Season 28-7 record with 17 pins and an overall Reagan record of 45-28.
At 165# JUNIOR CAPTAIN PARIS GONZALEZ enters the tournament with a Season 27-24 record with 24 pins and an overall Reagan record of 42-43.
We wish these wrestlers the best of luck and know that at the whistle they will represent Reagan High School well! LET’S GO!
