Reagan’s Quinones signs NLI with Auburn for Track & Field

Alyssa Quiñones signed her National Letter of Intent today for Auburn University Track & Field. The Auburn Tigers compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

Quinones is a four year letterman for Reagan Girls Track & Field. She has been a top medalist in Pole Vault and the 4×100 and 4×200 relays achieving the following highlights:

  • 2nd place 2021 UIL State Championship earning 2nd place in the 4×100 with a new school record of 45.00; 4th place in the 4x200M Relay with a new school record of 1:38.12; and 5th place in Pole Vault tying her personal record and school record at 13′. In 2019, she won 4th place in pole vault and ran on both the 4×100 & 4×200 relays.
  • Regional Championship 2021 earning 1st place in the 4x100M Relay with a meet record of 45.60 and 1st place in the 4x200M Relay with 1:39:12; and 2nd place in Pole Vault with a 12’6″. In 2019, earned 1st place for both relays and in pole vault.
  • Area Championship 2021 earning 1st place in the 4x100M Relay breaking the city record with a 45.48; 1st place in the 4x200M Relay with a record 1:39.88; and 1st place in Pole Vault. In 2019, she also won 1st place in pole vault and both relays.
  • District Championship 2021, 1st place in the 4×100 and 4×200 relay, 1st place in pole vault with a new District meet record of 12’ 7”. In 2019, she also won 1st place in pole vault and both relays.
  • Selected to the 2019 & 2021 TGCA All State 6A Team.

Head Coach Jennifer McHugh commented, “We are so proud of Alyssa. Her discipline and work ethic has led her to success in track and field. Her example as a role model couples being measured and fierce—both traits necessary in accomplishing greatness!

In addition, Alyssa earned Academic All District in 2019-2021 and is a member of the NHS. She will graduate Summa Cum Laude in May.

Alyssa also competes for Coaches Brookelyn and Glenn Dickson of Elite Sportz. She has competed in numerous indoor pole vault meets in Texas, as well at the National Pole Vault Summit in Reno. She has also competed at the AAU Junior Olympics since 2017. In 2020, she was a New Balance Indoor Nationals Qualifier before the meet was cancelled that spring.
