Reagan’s Alissa Ortiz commits to play Women’s Tennis for Wheaton College

Congratulations to Alissa Ortiz, Reagan Tennis, on signing to play Tennis for Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. Wheaton is NCAA Division III and a member of the New England Conference.

Alissa is a four-year Varsity Letterman. She started on Varsity as a Freshman for Franklin High School, a 6A school in El Paso, Texas.  She played #1 doubles and #3 singles at Franklin. Her team won 2nd place in District for Team Season. During Individual season, she placed 2nd in doubles and advanced to the Regional Tournament. Alissa moved to Reagan as a Sophomore and has played on our Varsity team her remaining three high school years. Among her highlights, Alissa played #1 doubles and#2 singles during her Senior year and contributed to the team achieving District and Bi-District Championships in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

She began her tennis career at an early age when her grandfather took her to her first tennis lesson at age 6. She started playing in L4-L6 tournaments at the age of 8 in the USTA Southwest Region.

In addition to Tennis, Alissa is a member of the Reagan National Honors Society (NHS) and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). She has been named Academic All District and will graduate Summa Cum Laude.
