Earlier this week the Texas UIL presented Coach Russell Aki the “Texas Girls Golf Coach of the Year Award.”
Coach Aki joined Reagan in 2018, and was Head Coach for Reagan’s 2022 State Championship Girls Golf Team.
Both Boys and Girls Teams advanced to Regional play this year, and returning Rattler golfers are already prepping for an even more successful 2023/2024 season.
Reflecting on the Reagan Golf Team’s successes, Aki stated “We wouldn’t be where we are today without the outstanding support from our community and the Reagan staff and faculty. More importantly, our golf parents and families are extremely supportive of me and Coach Martinez, making our positions and overall program a dream job, and helping us create a true family atmosphere.”
Coach Aki also teaches World Geography and holds teaching certifications in Social Studies, Physical Education, and Health.
