Reagan opened their season yesterday at Johnson High School with a Quad Dual vs. Johnson, Vista Ridge and Corpus Christi King. JV wrestled Friday, with the wrestlers getting quality and valuable mat time experience.
On Saturday the Varsity Boys went 2-1, falling just short to Johnson 32-46, but then coming back to defeat Vista Ridge 57-18 and Corpus Christi King 71-6. Senior Zarek Hernandez, Juniors Alex Sierra and Blake Jensen and Sophomore Jimmy Benne all went 3-0 for the day with Benne winning all three by pin. The Varsity Girls went 1-2, shutting Johnson out 24-0, but losing to Vista Ridge and Corpus Christi 18-36 and 12-42 respectively. Seniors Addison Garcia and Vicki Rodriguez both went 3-0, pinning all of their opponents.
