Reagan Tennis Falls to Westlake at Area Playoffs

Reagan high school fell to Westlake high school 10-5 at Area playoffs.  Reagan got on the board first with Bailey Godwin and Kyndall Quiroz winning at girls #1 doubles 6-1, 6-0.  Westlake came right back winning mixed doubles 6-0, 6-0 to tie the match at 1-1.  Reagan earned wins at boys #2 doubles with Joseph Snyman and Jeffrey Xia winning 6-3, 6-4 as well as girls #2 doubles with Alyssa Acosta and Apeksha Peeris.  Westlake pulled out tough wins at boys #1 doubles and girls #3 doubles after saving 6 match points to win the 3rd set tie-breaker 16-14.  This put Westlake up 4-3 leading into singles play.  Reagan struck back with wins from Bailey Godwin at girls #1 singles and Kyndall Quiroz at girls #2 singles both winning 6-2, 6-2 to put Reagan up 5-4.  Westlake turned up the heat and took the first set in 8 singles matches and eventually won the next 6 matches to down Reagan 10 matches to 5.

This loss ends Reagan’s team season with the individual season set to resume in the spring where they will have their sites on returning to the State finals.
