Reagan Swim & Dive Enjoys Recording-Breaking Regions Championship Meet!

The 2025 Reagan Region Championship team comprised 18 swimmer and four divers. The Rattlers enjoyed a record-breaking Region VII-6A Championship meet at Josh Davis Natatorium February 6-8.  When the waves settle, multiple athletes will advance to the State Championships in 9 events in Austin at the end of the month. The team had a combined 1st-place score of 522.5 points. The women’s team also earned the title of 1st-place women’s team in the Region with a score of 320 points, the men earned 4th-place in a very competitive field with 202.5 points, Head Coach Michael Rourke was named Coach of the Meet, and many athletes swam first-place finishes and set Region 6A, Josh Davis Natatorium and RRHS records:

Amelia Miller, Montse Spielmann, Andrea Torres Sosa and Tessa Christiansen’s 200 Medley Relay (1.44.22) set a new RRHS record. 

Montse Spielmann, Amelia Miller, Andrea Torres Sosa and Tessa Christiansen’s 400 Free Relay (3.25.61) set a new 6A, natatorium and RRHS record.  

Montse Spielmann’s 100 Fly (53.21) set a new 6A and natatorium record; she is currently the RRHS record holder.

Amelia Miller’s 100 Back (56.22) set a new RRHS record.

Johnny Ganser, Samuel Killpack, Darryl Gaona and Grant Lilly Men’s 200 Free Relay (1.24.82) set a new RRHS record. 

Grant Lilly’s *200 Free (1.37.41) set a new 6A, natatorium and RRHS record.

*Lilly’s 200 Free broke a 25-year record set by 5-time Olympian Josh Davis in the very natatorium named in his honor!

Congratulations to all of the Region qualifiers and finalists, many of whom swam personal best times. Results from women’s (W) and men’s (M) finals are below in event order; the top 2 finishers (*) in each event automatically advance to the State Championship:
