Despite trailing by as many as four runs early in the game, the Reagan Softball team exploded in the bottom of the fifth inning to score nine runs and defeat the Marshall Rams 18-6. Birthday girl Leila Reyes (Jr.) appropriately hit the double to drive in the final two runs and walk off with the run rule win.
Macie Thiel (Jr.) and Claire Exstrom (Fr.) led the Rattler offense each going 3-3 at the plate. Thiel hit three doubles and collected three RBI. Avery Allen (Jr.), Amari McMath (So.), and Alyssa Burnett (So.) had two hits a piece. Ally Reyes (Fr.) earned the win for the Rattlers giving up six hits and striking out five.
Reagan moves to 11-8 on the season, 4-6 in district play. Next up, they will face the Lee Volunteers on Tuesday afternoon. Game time is 4:30 at the Northeast ISD Softball Complex.
