The Reagan Varsity Softball team is looking primed to start District play this week after a strong showing at the Seguin Tournament this past weekend. The Rattlers went 4-2 over the three-day tournament with wins over Alice, Pearsall, Medina Valley, and Sinton. This brings their season record to 9-4 overall.
Sophomore Ally Reyes carried the load for Reagan in the pitching circle, pitching over 21 of the 24 total innings played. Reyes pitched three shutout games and tallied 28 strikeouts, while giving up 17 hits and allowing 12 earned runs over the course of the six games.
Offensively, the top of Reagan’s line-up–and fellow outfield trio–swung some hot bats over the weekend. Seniors Avery Allen and Macie Thiel and Junior Sadie Eckles accumulated 18 hits and 12 RBIs together, batting .412, .400, and .313 over the course of the tournament, respectively.
The team will kick off District play on Tuesday at 4:30 against Roosevelt at the NEISD Softball Complex off Judson Road. Come out and cheer on your Rattlers!
A big thank you to Dr. R for coming out to support the girls on Saturday in Seguin!
Strike ’em, Rattlers!
