A young Reagan Varsity Softball team went 1-1 on the final day of the Northside ISD tournament to
finish 2-3 on the weekend. The Lady Rattlers lost a hard-fought battle to McCollum 10-11 in the first
game of the day. Freshmen pitcher, Presley Noriega, gave up 14 hits. The Rattlers were led offensively
by junior, Shreya Fifadara, who went 3-4 at the plate with two doubles and 4 RBIs, and sophomore,
Macie Thiel, who went 3-3 with two RBIs and three stolen bases. Freshman Sadie Eckles added two hits
with an RBI, and lone starting senior Ashley Swetonic doubled to score in a run.
In the second game, Reagan routed Kennedy 15-5 to take home the win. Sophomore Avery Allen
sparked the Rattlers’ offense going 3-3 with an in-the-park homerun, a triple and a single. Fifadara
stayed hot at the plate going 3-4 with two RBI. Eckles also went 3-4 with two triples and a single,
collecting three RBI. Julia Magi, Leila Reyes, and Alyssa Burnett added two hits apiece.
Congratulations to Shreya Fifadara for being named to the all-tournament team and bringing home
some hardware!
The Rattlers will return to the diamond on Thursday to start a 3-day tournament hosted by NEISD. First
game is against South San Thursday at 1:30, North East ISD Softball Complex – East Field.
