Rattler senior Cloe Nader signed a national letter of intent to swim for New York University, a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III university located in the heart of New York City, New York. In March 2024, the NYU women’s team placed third at the NCAA Division III Championships, their best finish ever.
During a signing day ceremony at Ronald Reagan High School today, Nader announced her commitment to take her talents to NYU alongside her parents Adib and Mirielle Nader, and Head Aquatics Coach Michael Rourke (not pictured).
“I have known Cloe since she was in middle school,” said Rourke, who also coached her older sister. “She has always been all-in with the Reagan Aquatics team and has shown leadership and positive characteristics through adversity and challenges along the way.”
Nader has earned a spot on the award-winning RRHS Varsity Swim Team as a freshman and is a 4-year Varsity letterman. A superb distance swimmer, Nader is a 4-time sectional qualifier, 3-time regional finalist in the 500 freestyle, a 3-time district finalist and medalist in the 500 freestyle, and a Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (TISCA) silver medalist in the 1650-yard freestyle and the 1000-yard freestyle.
Just as strong outside the pool as she is in the pool, Nader says her most powerful qualities are her ability to adapt, her patience and her consistency.
Nader, who has been swimming since the age of 6, also excels academically and actively strives to make the world a better place. She is a very active member of Reagan’s National Honor Society, the Computer Science Club, the Alzheimer’s Association Club and has logged hundreds of volunteer hours in support of her community.
Speaking of Nader as both a great athlete and human being, Rourke concluded, “I am proud to have had Cloe help us build such a strong women’s swim team.”
