The Rattlers brought their A game in game 2 of the series, coming out swinging. Reagan loaded the bases when Jeter Battles got on off an error, Caleb Cappuccio singled on a spectacular bunt, and Caden Crofts was hit by a pitch. Isaiah Robledo got Battles across the plate with a sac fly to CF, and Cappuccio scored on the throw from a ground ball single to LF from Ryland Rangel. Reagan scored 6 runs in the 3rd by being patient at the plate and hitting 3 singles and 1 double. Robledo drew 2 walks in the inning along with Rangel (1), Michael Yzaguirre (1), and Cappuccio (1). Elias Leon had the first hit in the inning with an incredible bunt that ignited the stands and dugout. With Reagan up 3-0, runners on 2nd and 3rd, and 1 out, Javi Cuevas sent a line drive to RF for a double, scoring 2 runs and then another on a Dragon error. Battles singled and scored Cuevas with a hard hit back to the pitcher that was too hot to handle. Caden Crofts ate the Dragons up with another bunt to load the bases, and Robledo’s 2nd walk brought in Battles. After walks by Yzaguirre and Caleb Crider, Cuevas sac bunted to advance the runners. Battles reached on an error and scored Yzaguirre, then Crofts hit a monster triple on a line drive to CF, bringing the score to 11-1.
Kaleb Rogers was unstoppable on the mound for Reagan and allowed the offense to go to work. His outstanding performance prevented the Dragons from gaining any momentum, shutting them down. Rogers struck out 10 batters, including 3 in the bottom of the 5th to seal the deal for the Rattlers. Rogers walked 2 and gave up 3 hits and 1 run (earned).
