On this momentous signing day, we proudly announce Nick Padilla’s next chapter in his basketball journey. The guard, whose dedication to the game began at the tender age of six, has earned himself a prestigious offer and basketball scholarship from Rome City Institute in Rome, Italy, where he has committed to play. Additionally, Padilla has been awarded a Merit scholarship from Università Degli Studi Rome, Italy, further solidifying his collegiate path.
Padilla’s basketball prowess is evident through his years of commitment. He started with club basketball at six and progressed through AAU basketball to varsity-level play. Joining the varsity team in his junior year, he quickly became a key player, earning his stripes as a two-year Varsity Letterman and making significant contributions to Reagan’s freshman and JV teams.
His achievements on the court have not gone unnoticed. Padilla is the FIRST Reagan basketball player to receive an offer and scholarship to play overseas, a testament to his talent and dedication. Moreover, he has garnered recognition for his academic and athletic achievements, including NEISD and Superintendent All District Athletic Academic Team recognition for the 2022-2023 season, All District Selections in 2022-2023, and TABC Academic All-State honors in 2023-2024. The Texas High School Coaches Association also gave him an Honorable Mention on the boy’s basketball Academic All-State team for the 2023-2024 season.
