Reagan Girls Wrestling continues to show up . Yesterday they placed 10th out of 47 teams in the Doc Hess Classic held at the Legends Event Center in Bryan, TX. The Lady Rattlers scored 64 team points with three individaul placers.
Senior Ella Gransbery (132#) placed 2nd, scoring 20 team points. Gransbery pinned her way to the final where she unfortunately lost a 2-10 Major Decision.
Senior Paris Gonzales (165#) placed 4th, scoriing 15 team points. Gonzales won her first match by pin, then dropped her 2nd match. She received a bye, and pinned her next 2 opponents to get to the 3rd place match where lost to take 4th.
Junior America Rodriguez (114#) placed 4th, scoring 15 team points. Rodriguez won her first match by pin, then dropped her 2nd match. Working up the backside of the bracket, she won her next match in an exciting Sudden Victory Overtime, and then pinned her next 2 opponents. Reaching the UIL 5 match per day maximum rule, Rodriguez unfortunately had to forfeit the 3rd place match and take 4th.
Next up Reagan hosts the Annual Gillespie Classic Dual Tournemant in the Rattler Den on December 28th (JV) and December 29th (Girls and Boys Varsity) – first whistle 9am. Come support your Rattlers who are showing out.
