Reagan ready for State Quarterfinals

This is an exciting time for Reagan High School as the Rattlers enter the UIL State Football Quarterfinals for Conference 6A Division 1 (click here to see playoff bracket). The Rattlers face the Judson Rockets on Friday, December 5th at 7:30 p.m. at Rutledge Stadium. Reagan first won District with a 6-0 record and now claims a 12 -1 record overall, including its recent 3 wins in the state playoffs. In round one of the playoffs, Reagan held off Smithson Valley with a 21 – 14 victory. Reagan then edged Stevens 38 – 31 in round two at the Alamodome. On November 30th, the Rattlers moved one step closer to playing for the state title with a 51 -19 victory over Los Fresnos at Texas A&M Kingsville.

In preparing for the game against Judson, Head Coach David Wetzel commented, “We’ve got a great group of kids who are having alot of fun. We’ve had a great week of practice and are looking forward to the game against Judson.” Under Wetzel, who is in his 11th season with the Rattlers, Reagan has gone 95-38 and won five District championships. Yes, these are exciting times for the Rattlers!
