The Rattler softball team came out swinging and jumped out to an early 5-1 lead over Madison in the second inning. However, despite a valiant effort, and a couple of web gems by right fielder Shreya Fifadara and second baseman Alyssa Burnett, the experienced Madison squad proved too much to handle for the young Rattlers as Madison went on to defeat Reagan 5-15. Freshman hitters A’mari McMath, Sadie Eckles and Alyssa Burnett led the offense, each collecting an extra base hit. Eckles drove in two RBI. Junior Laiken Buell also had a hit and RBI for the Rattlers. Pitcher Presley Noriega suffered the loss.
Reagan will look to bounce back on Friday afternoon as it takes on Johnson. Game time is 4:30.
