Led by Senior Gavin Chapa and Junior Theone Gloesser, both the Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country Teams have qualified for the Regional Tournament in Corpus Christi on October 21st.
The Boys’ team took 2nd place with Chapa earning a commanding First Place with a time of 15.21 – 21 seconds in front of the 2nd place finisher. Freshman Logan Martinez found himself in the top 10, taking 5th place with a time of 16.17 in his first High School District Meet.
The Girls’ team also took 2nd place. Gloesser PR’d and took 5th place with a time of 19.14 – 36 seconds faster than her previous best. Senior Addie Jackson came in with the top 10 finishers – taking 9th place with a time of 19.19.
The Junior Varsity Girls’ Team won the District Championship with Freshman Yuvia Martinez taking first place with a time of 21.16, and the Junior Varsity Boys’ Team earned 2nd place .
