April 24, 2025 – The Rattlers took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 5-4 walk-off victory over Brandeis at Northeast Sports Park. They were down 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Bodie Weyman singled, scoring two runs.
The Rattlers came back to win despite trailing 4-0 in the seventh.
Brandeis opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles.
The Rattlers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the seventh, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Caleb Crider that drove in two.
Darden Wetherell started the game for the Rattlers. The pitcher allowed 11 hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Evrick Paulino appeared in relief for the Rattlers.
Dylan Gonzales, Crider, Karsten Holman, Ricky Armstrong, and Weyman each collected one hit for the Rattlers. Crider and Weyman each drove in two runs, and Holman paced with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. The Rattlers turned one double play in the game and didn’t commit a single error. Caine Chapman made the most plays with seven.
The Rattlers will travel to Brandeis for their next game on Friday, April 25th at NISD Park 1 at 7:30 p.m.
