The Rattlers let the good times roll with all the Rattler seniors getting into the game on Senior Night. Reagan pitching was efficient while the offense put up double digit hits (12), RBIs (15), and walks (11). The Rattlers also had 9 stolen bases with Caden Crofts collecting a whopping 4, Isaiah Robledo (2), Elias Leon (1), Jeter Battles (1), and Keegan Baldwin (1).
Kaleb Rogers started on the hill for Reagan and got the win, striking out 3, walking 2, and giving up 2 hits and 1 run (zero earned) in his 4 innings pitched. Kyle Hoggatt closed the game, pitching 10 pitches to 3 batters. He struck out 1, walked 0, and allowed 0 hits or runs.
The game started off slow, with the Rattlers drawing 5 walks in the 1st inning. However, the Rattlers went up 4-0 while only getting one hit in the inning, a high-bouncing, RBI single back to the pitcher from Crofts. Crofts led the offense, going 3 for 3 with 3 singles. In the 2nd inning, the Rattlers’ bats heated up when they racked up 5 hits and 5 more runs. Robledo led off with a hard ground ball single to LF followed by singles from Crofts and Ryland Rangel. “Big Mike” Michael Yzaguirre scored 2 runs with a dynamite double to LF, and Javi Cuevas also drove in 2 runs with a crushing line drive single to CF. Reagan went up 11-0 in the 3rd when Crofts singled and Rangel RBI singled. A sac fly from Big Mike also scored a run. Stone Johnson ripped the only hit in the 4th for Reagan, scoring 2 runs off the hard ground ball to LF. Chase Portillos got his turn at the plate in the top of the 5th, smashing a line drive to RF. The dugout went wild as Luke “LD” Davis smacked a line drive to RF then Cody Pictrowski smoked a ground ball to CF, scoring 2 runs. Will McPherson got on base with a little too-close-for-comfort chin music from the Volunteers’ pitcher.
