Rattlers Strike First in Game One Against Round Rock

Thursday, May 8, 2025 – The Rattlers take game one against Round Rock in round two of the playoffs. Kaleb Rogers was dominant on the hill, as the starting pitcher rang up 11 strikeouts in the Rattlers 10-1 victory over Round Rock on Thursday at Northeast Sports Park. Rogers gave up two hits and one run over six and one-third innings while walking three.

The Rattlers opened the scoring in the first after Karsten Holman singled, scoring one run. Ricky Armstrong added two runs in the second with a triple to right center. The Rattlers added two runs in the third. Tony Gilbreath singled down the right field line, making the score 5-0. Will Van Wisse appeared in relief for the Rattlers.

The Rattlers piled up 11 hits in the game. Gilbreath led with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The left fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Gilbreath, Holman, Armstrong, and Bodie Weyman each collected two hits. The Rattlers had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game.

The Rattlers will face Round Rock for game two on Friday at Round Rock High School at 7 p.m.
