RATTLERS HONOR SENIOR WRESTLERS AND DOMINATE LAST TRI-MEET

January 27, 2022

We had a great time last night honoring nine Reagan Wrestling Seniors for their hard work and dedication over the years in the program.  Arguably the most difficult sport out there, these wrestlers gave it their all during their time as Rattlers:  NICK CASTILLO, KALEB DE LA GARZA, NATHAN GROENKE, BRANDON JIMENEZ, ARTHUR MAYO, CAPTAIN MALEAK MCGLASSON-BRUNSON, PARKER MILLER, MYLES PRYOR and MAVERICK WHITETHORN.

Division 1 athlete and coach Ryan Lancaster writes about the daily fight these athletes silently endure for their sport:
Fight to maintain grades
Fight to maintain weight
Fight off skin infection
Fight to keep varsity positions
Fight to win matches against skilled opponents.
Fight the stigmas of their peers.
Fight against the silence of a community that widely ignores them.
Fight with personal demons.

We look forward to seeing what the future holds for these amazing student athletes!

The Rattlers made their last showing before Districts an impressive one, beating Steele 61-12 and beating MacArthur 72-3, bringing their 2021-22 Dual Record to 9-3.

The girls split the night losing to Steele 6-27, but bouncing back to shut out MacArthur 24-0, ending their Dual Season 7-5.

Rattlers now head into District, with JV District kicking off at Johnson Friday, January 28th at 4:00pm.  Varsity District will be held at Blossom Athletic Center next Wednesday and Thursday, February 2nd and 3rd beginning at 9:00am.
