The fans showed up in force last night to cheer on the varsity boys basketball team as they continued their playoff run with an impressive win over the Lake Travis Cavaliers.
After trailing 6-12 at the end of the first quarter, the Rattlers powered their way back to take a 23-21 lead before heading into the locker room for halftime. Returning from the halftime break, Reagan took their play to the next level, stepping up an already aggressive defense and moving the ball even more efficiently to find the open shot. The team’s signature selfless play pushed them to a 39-31 lead going into the fourth quarter. With time winding down and the Cavaliers in foul trouble, Reagan capitalized on free throws to increase their margin. With 41 seconds left and an 11 point Rattler lead, the crowd could hardly contain their excitement! Reagan claimed the Regional Quarterfinal Championship with a final score of 51-41.
The team advances to the Regional Tournament – round 4 of the playoffs – where they will face off against Brennan on Friday, March 4 at 5:30 pm at the Northside Gym. All tickets must be purchased online. Click on “View Events by School” and then select the “HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFFS” option.
