Reagan Hoops faced off against the Marshall Rams in district play yesterday at Littleton Gym.
Marshall is new to the district this year, but the Rattlers had clearly done their homework, establishing a 6-point lead at the end of the 1st quarter (19-13). The boys kicked into overdrive during the 2nd quarter, posting 26 points to the Rams’ 15 for a 45-28 halftime score.
With a solid margin, Reagan came into the third quarter with confidence keeping the Rams at a significant deficit. They closed the period at 63-44. The team continued to limit Marshall’s scoring during the 4th quarter while adding another 18 to scoreboard. The Rattlers clinched the victory with a final score of 81-61.
Reagan definitely had the advantage on the boards, out rebounding the Rams on both ends of the court throughout match up. Great teamwork to get open looks under the basket coupled with strong 3-point shooting proved to be the key to success.
Junior Aidan Richard dropped 26 points to lead the Rattlers in scoring. Luke Price, Luke Mills and Kenneth Manuel also had significant contributions with 15, 14 and 11 points respectively.
The Rattlers are 2-0 in district play.
The team travels to LEE tomorrow (December 22) for their last game before the holiday break. Tipoff is at 1:30 pm at LEE. Hope to see you there!
Good luck boys! Strike ‘em!
