Varsity boys basketball defeated the Clark Cougars on Wednesday, moving to 4-0 in conference play.
Both teams came into the game undefeated in district, so the Rattlers were prepared to fight for the win. Reagan took an early lead, ending the first quarter ahead 21-16. Clark rallied in the second quarter to close the half with the game tied at 39. After the halftime break, the team came out strong pushing ahead of the Cougars 53-48 by the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter proved to be a battle as Clark closed the gap to 1 point (60-59) with 2:17 left, but the team stayed solid in the final minutes to pull off the 68-63 victory.
Trey Thompson led the team in scoring with 21 points with the other starters also putting up notable numbers: Luke Mills, 12; Aidan Richard, 12; Jackson Adams, 9 and Jorge Lopez, 9.
The team is preparing to take on Brandeis tomorrow, December 31, at 1:30 pm in Littleton Gym at Blossom Athletic Center.
