Rattlers are Playoff Bound!

April 22, 2025

After ending the regular season in a three-way tie for third place, the Rattlers faced off with Brandeis on Monday night in a “play-in” game with the winner punching their ticket to playoffs.

With their season on the line, the Rattlers struck first putting up one run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.  After hitting a double off the left field wall, Senior Macie Thiel scored from second on a hard line drive single by Junior catcher, Mila Mancias.  The Rattlers added another run in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth off a double by Senior Avery Allen to take what appeared to be a commanding 4-0 lead.

Brandeis made a charge in the top of the sixth inning scoring two runs and added another in the top of the seventh to bring the score to 4-3.  However, the Rattlers defense, looking solid all night, pulled through and held off the Broncos for the win, earning the Rattlers their first playoff appearance since 2019!

Sophomore Ally Reyes earned her 18th win on the season, allowing six hits and three runs over seven innings.  Reyes struck out eight and walked only one.  Allen and Mancias led the offensive attack with two hits and one RBI each.

Reagan will face the Brennan Bears in a best of three series starting on Friday at 5 PM at NE East field (14800 Judson Road).  Game 2/3 will be on Saturday starting at 12 PM at the Northside fields (7001 Culebra Road).

Best of luck to our Lady Rattlers!
