Jackson Flummer set to hit a powerful Forehand

With a twist against MacArthur, the team matches started with singles first. This proved an excellent opportunity for the line up to get a shake up and we saw the call up of Jackson Flummer and Koral Hatipkarasulu in the boys singles to demonstrate the depth of the Reagan team. Both Boys went on to win their matches 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 respectively. The 6 players in the boys lineup only dropped a total 2 games for all six matches and won the first 6 points in emphatic fashion.

The Girls singles had a great result too with only a single match being dropped out of all the 6 that started. Some notable mentions were the inclusion of of Italia Valencia and Darshini Mahesh in the singles format. They did not disappoint and both drew some solid performances to win with identical scores of 6-1,6-0.

Ultimately the Rattlers proved too strong and play concluded with a strong performance from all players.

The final conclusion to this quadruple win was the encounter against our arch rivals from the other side of Highway 281 – Johnson High School.

Johnson have proven in years gone by to be strong opponents and this year they came with some high hopes to “rattle” the rattler cage.

The doubles matches started and the level of play proved to be excellent. The Line 1, 2 & 3 boys proved too strong for the Johnson teams and they overwhelmed them with a clean sweep to take a 3-0 lead.

The Line 1 Girls had an exceptionally close encounter and narrowly lost to a strong Johnson pair in a seesaw match that could have landed either way for both teams. The Line 2 & 3 girls pairings both won their matches and took the overall match score to 5-1.

The final mixed doubles pairing proved too strong for Johnson as they were overwhelmed and won 6-1, 6-1 in dominant fashion.

After the doubles matched were over Reagan were in a strong position at 6-1 to go into the singles with a big advantage.

The Singles matches began with all Line 1 through 6 of the boys and the girls getting off to a strong start. The Boys singles went out with the smell of victory in the air and proceeded to dominate and overwhelm the Johnson line up. The boys managed a clean sweep against their opponents and secured the overall win. The girls singles were up in all their matches when the overall score was called and Reagan had secured the overall victory against Johnson.
