After the 3 day ice delay, the Reagan Girls Wrestling Team went to work at Saturday’s UIL District 15-6A Tournament, earning Third Place with a team total of 115 points – 1 point ahead of 4th place Johnson, proving that every point in every match counts. The Rattlers qualified 5 wrestlers for the UIL Region 4-6A Tournament next Friday and Saturday, February 10-11.
Freshman Shobhanna Spielmann (100#) is your District Champion, earning 24 team points. Spielmann won the quarters with a first period pin, the semis with a 15-1 major decision, and the finals match by a 13-2 major decision.
Senior Ella Gransbery (132#) earned 2nd place and scored 18 team points.
Sophomore Kayla Baker (126#) earned 2nd place and scored 24 team points.
Senior Paris Gonzalez (165#) earned 3rd place and scored 18 team points.
Freshman Mekyela Garcia (152#) earned 4th place and scored 13 team points.
Junior America Rodriguez (107#) earned 5th place and scored 6 team points.
Senior Jenna Maltbie (185#) earned 6th place and scored 3 team points.
