Reagan Varsity turned in a solid performance at LEE High School on Saturday, bringing home the 2nd place trophy with 138.5 team points, only 10 points out of 1st place, with only 9 wrestlers competing out of the 15 weight classes. Even more impressive, ALL NINE WRESTLER PLACED!
JUNIOR SAWYER PEEVY (220#) placed FIRST, scoring 24 team points, going 3-0 for the day with three pins, 2 in the first period and one in the second.
SENIOR MAVERICK WHITETHORN (145#) placed FIRST, scoring 22.5 team points, going 3-0 with one pin.
SOPHOMORE CONNOR O’BRIEN (113#) placed FIRST, scoring 20 team points, going 2-0 in the tournament with one pin.
JUNIOR NATHAN CRAWFORD (195#) placed SECOND, scoring 18 team points, going 2-1 for the day with two pins.
JUNIOR JOHNNY RIVERA (160#) placed THIRD, scoring 11 team points, going 3-1 for the day with one pin.
FRESHMAN MASON HINSHAW (138#) placed THIRD, scoring 10 team points, going 3-1 in the tournament with one pin.
JUNIOR NATHAN ALMAGUER (152#) placed FOURTH, scoring 11 team points, going 2-2 with two pins.
SOPHOMORE BRYCE WHITETHORN (120#) placed FOURTH, scoring 10 team points, going 2-2 in the tournament with one pin.
SENIOR NATHAN GROENKE (285#) placed SIXTH, scoring 10 team points, going 3-2 for the day with three pins – Groenke had to forfeit the fifth place match as he met the 5 matches per day maximum.
The Girls place 6th out of 19 teams, scoring 38 team points, bringing only 4 athletes for the 10 weight classes.
JUNIOR ELLA GRANSBERY (128#) placed FIRST, scoring 22 team points. Gransberry pinned her way to the finals, where she won by an exciting 10-8 decision to go 3-0 for the day.
SOPHOMORE AMERICA RODRIGUEZ (110#) placed FOURTH, scoring 10 team points. Rodriguez won her first match by 10-2 Major Decision, but dropped the Semifinal. She got a third period pin to get to the Consolation Finals, but lost that match by a close 0-2 Decision, the only points scored in the first period.

Next up the Rattlers will compete at the Black and Blue Tournament: JV on Friday, January 21st at 5pm at Corbett Middle School and Varsity on Saturday, January 22nd at 8:30am at Clemens High School.
