Down 3-0, the Rattlers’ bats came alive in the bottom of the 6th inning. Caleb Cappuccio started the comeback when he drew a walk. With 1 out, Michael Yzaguirre gets on base with a hard ground ball single to left field. Jeter Battles laid down a perfect bunt to the 3rd baseman to load the bases. Caden Crofts drove the first run in for the Rattlers with a hard ground ball to right field, scoring Cappuccio. The Rattlers dugout went wild when, with an 0-2 count, Elias Leon hit a bomb over the right field fence for the grand slam. The Rattlers end up scoring 2 additional runs in the inning including an RBI from Cappuccio that scored Rylan Brewer.
Kyle Hoggatt pitched a complete game to earn the win in the thrilling victory. With his nerves of steel, Hoggatt shut The Woodlands’ bats down after the 2nd inning. The ace finished with 0 walks and 5 strikeouts, allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. The Rattlers defense was sure handed after the 2nd inning, holding The Woodlands to 3 runs.
