Reagan Boys Wrestling beat Churchill at a home dual last Wednesday and won the competitive Russ Pederson Tournament yesterday. The Girls dropped their Churchill match up and got 16th at Russ Pederson.
Standout Senior Captain Sawyer Peevy (215#) increased his undefeated record to 16-0. He got a bye and then a first period pin to get to the Semifinals. The first two periods of the Semifinals were scoreless with Peevy’s choice in the third – he chose down and pulled off a reversal with 20 seconds left, winning by an exciting 2-0 decision. He went on to pin his opponent in the finals to earn first place and 28 team points. “Making it to the State Tournament last year isn’t enough,” Peevy said, “I need to make this season special.”
