Yesterday Reagan Boys’ Wrestling took 1st Place out of 48 teams in the Doc Hess Classic held at the Legends Event Center in Bryan, TX. The Rattlers scored 166 team points – edging Lake Travis out by 2.5 points. Going into the break, the Boys have won all four tournaments they entered, and are 5-0 in head to head duals.
Senior Sawyer Peevy (215#) took first place of the 215#A Bracket, scoring 34 team points and bringing his undefeated record to 21-0. Peevy got a bye to get to the Quarterfinals where he took an early 4-0 lead. His opponent tied it up 4-4 in the third period, when Peevy was able to hit a reversal and get 2 near fall points with 38 seconds left, winning an 8-4 decision. In the Semifinals he pulled out a narrow 8-7 decision victory, and followed up by dominating the finals with a first period pin. Moving on the the Super-Final vs. the winner of the 215#B Bracket, Peevy hit a reversal and another pin after 2.5 minutes of being scoreless, taking FIRST PLACE OVER ALL 26 WRESTLERS.
Sophomore Max Pechman (106#) took first place by dominating his 14 man bracket and scoring 25 team points. Pechman found himself in the final after 2 first period pins and a 10-4 decision. In the finals match he held his opponent scoreless and won with an 8-0 Major Decision.

Senior Jimmy Benne (144#) placed 2nd, scoring 22 team points.
Senior Johnny Rivera (132#) placed 3rd, scoring 18 team points.
Senior Jack Balfour (157#) placed 4th, scoring 16 team points.
Senior Nathan Almaguer (165#) placed 4th, scoring 14 team points.
Our JV dominated as well with the following results: FIRST PLACE: Ben Brown (100-109#), SECOND PLACE: Adam Aguirre (131-135#), FOURTH PLACE: Dreyson Majuta (110-116#), Jacob Dozier (134-140#).
