No time for tears… Senior Night Softball Rattlers bring Sunshine Cheers!

This past Thursday, Flamethrowing Junior Ally Reyes struck out 12 batters as she led Reagan past Johnson 12-0 to complete their sweep of the long-rivaled Jaguars. Reyes allowed five hits and zero runs over six innings while walking one.

Slugging Senior Sadie Eckles led the high-powered Rattlers with four hits in four at bats in the win. Eckles along with Presley Noriega (Sr.) and Peyton Mendoza (Fr.) all doubled twice while Noriega and Mendoza each led the team with 3 Rbis a piece.

The Rattlers set a team high with four stolen bases in the game by Alyssa Burnett (Sr.), Courtney Latronico (Fr.), Mina Galvan (Jr.) and Eckles. Reagan Rattlers were sure handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Senior catcher Mila Mancias had the most chances in the field with 13.

This past Tuesday off a spectacular Senior night ceremony, the “Fab Five” Seniors all shone brightly. Mila Mancias drove in five runs on two hits to lead Reagan Rattlers past the Lee Volunteers in a dominant 12-0 run rule. Mancias tripled in the sixth inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the fifth inning, scoring two. Super Senior Maeling “Mae” Jimenez tripled, scoring one run, Cortney Latronico singled, scoring one run, and Mendoza singled, scoring one run. Noriega and Mendoza each collected multiple hits for Reagan Varsity Rattlers.

Ally Reyes earned another win for Reagan. The pitcher surrendered no hits or runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking five. Pitching mate Carolina Santoyo threw one inning of zero-run ball for Reagan in relief. The freshman righty gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking none.

Reagan Rattlers tallied a season high of 14 hits in this victory. Leadoff hitter Latronico led the Lady Rattlers with four hits in four at bats with 2 stolen bases. The Rattlers once again played flawless defense without any errors.

The Lady Rattlers face district nemesis the Churchill Chargers on Friday April 10 for their chance to even the series at 7pm Northeast Field 14800 Judson Rd. weather permitting.
